Photographing the invisible
When the Nijmegen astronomer Heino Falcke prepares to publish his first book, I get asked to write three interviews about the work of Falcke and his team on the world-famous photo of a black hole by Event Horizon Telescope.
The three interviews lead me on a trip through the history of a crazily ambitious idea: to sync radio telescopes all over the world and produce the first photo of something that eats light.
